Persephone's Return
The Maiden arrives in the form of blossoming new growth beckoning all from their hibernation to step outside and admire her work. Soft, almost imperceptible stirrings at first, gathering momentum before a full tilt return to life in technicolour.
A welcome transformation after the still silence of the dying season, a reclusive time of quiet reflection and the conserving energy, enough to flourish once more as we acclimatise to the change of terrain.
The story of the seasons belongs to Persephone.
Symbolically attuned to her presence and absence in a neverending cycle of eternal death and rebirth. An inescapable revolving door that is her fate.
Both Goddess of Spring and Queen of The Underworld, her duality is a testament to the natural cycles of nature, where polarity exists in harmony. Never ceasing and in constant flux.
Rather than deny the inevitability of change, Persephone's paradigm invites us to welcome it without resistence and transcend. As she appears again in all her glory, with petals underfoot, reassuringly paving our way forth.
